Led by: Dr. Anatoliy Gruzd, Canada Research Chair in Social Media Data Stewardship & Philip Mai, Director of Business and Communications, Ryerson Social Media Lab

Join us tomorrow at 1:00PM EST for a free virtual talk hosted by the Democratic Engagement Exchange, an initiative of the Ryerson University Faculty of Arts.

Tomorrow’s talk will feature presentations by Dr. Anatoliy Gruzd, Canada Research Chair in Social Media Data Stewardship & Philip Mai, Director of Business and Communications and a Senior Researcher at the Ryerson Social Media Lab. The talk will answer some of the pressing questions and concerns we have about democracy during COVID-19. It will also introduce participants to the Social Media Lab’s new COVID-19 web portal for Canadians. The web portal is a rapid response project project that puts a spotlight on COVID-19 related misinformation and provides Canadians with timely and actionable information that we all can use to protect ourselves and our communities. The speakers will also share some of the preliminary findings about how false claims spreads on the web.
